The first hero of the Fire Emblem series, Marth is the prince of Altea and a descendant of the legendary hero Anri. Renowned as an exceptional swordfighter who wields his blade with grace, he rallied an ever-growing band of stalwarts to liberate the continent of Archanea from the kingdom of Doluna and the dark dragon Medeus. When a former ally seized his kingdom, Marth fought to reclaim it.

Marth is a tall swordsman with blue hair. He wears black pants paired with long brown boots and a light blue tunic accented with gold. Armor protects his upper body, while a belt at his waist holds his sheath. His hands are clad in fingerless gloves, and in his left hand he wields the Falchion, his signature sword. A golden tiara adorns his head, and a blue cape with red interior lining flows behind him. He stands upright with one hand gripping his sword and the other resting on his sheath.
One notable factory defect involved a Marth figure packaged with a second, unattached head floating inside the box.
In another manufacturing error, some Marth figures were found wielding two Falchions—an anomaly similar to the 'dual-cannon' Samus defect.
Marth currently ranks as the 4th best-selling amiibo in Japan and holds 8th place in Europe.
As a member of the scarce 'Holy Trinity' alongside Villager and Wii Fit Trainer, Marth became notoriously hard to find until Nintendo announced a retail return in May 2015.
Marth and Villager share the distinction of being the only amiibo to receive significant redesigns, which were used for restocks in the UK and Japan.
